On the palate, it reveals itself as clear with fine bubbles and a straw-yellow color. Complex and with a very lively acidity, complemented by notes of candied fruit and biscuit.
At approximately 200 meters altitude and about 10 km from the Atlantic Ocean, with a unique and exceptional terroir, we seek the most vibrant expression of Portuguese grape varieties, demonstrating their full potential for producing quality wines with great aging potential.
For the first time in this unique terroir, a high-quality and very refreshing sparkling wine was made.
SOIL GEOLOGY
The soils where the vines that produce the grapes for Alfaiate grow are essentially very old schists, dating from the Lower Carboniferous (ca. 300 MA).
These are poor soils with an acidic reaction, in which the roots of the vines penetrate deep through the cleavage planes of the schist to the cooler lower layers. Their dark colors absorb solar radiation, which is released as heat at night, allowing the production of very high-quality grapes.
